| In
early 2000, members of BCGNY voted to establish a special Heart
Research Fund in the hope that work could begin to identify and help
solve some of the heart problems in the Borzoi. The Borzoi Club of Greater New York is pleased to be a major contributor to the Borzoi Club of America, Inc.'s Health Fund toward establishing an active heart research study for our breed. Club members and friends have been very generous. Many have made donations, supported our trophy fund by honoring winning hounds and their owners with a heart research donation in the winner's name, provided lovely raffle items, and purchased raffle tickets. Thanks to everyone's efforts, BCGNY's Heart Research Fund has grown significantly. Fundraising for BCGNY's Heart Research Fund continues! Martha Van Loan's donation of print #3 of her "Puppy and Teddy" was raffled at BCGNY's Spring 2002 Specialty Show for the benefit of the Fund. As an incentive to donors of $25 or more, we offer a lovely commemorative pin of our BCGNY logo surrounded by a red heart, designed by our own Janet Czaplinski.
